Hindi Diwas is celebrated all through the India to show the importance of Hindi language in the country. Many functions are organized on a national level showcasing the importance of Hindi and how it was used as a language of national integration during the independence struggle. In many schools and colleges Hindi essay writing and speech competitions are organized and students speak only in Hindi without using any English words. Many nationalized and private banks including corporate sectors in south India celebrate Hindi Diwas Week by writing a specific Hindi word on a white board and describing the meaning and uses of the word.Įvery hour there is a new word written on the white board so that people learn new Hindi words and use then in their daily life. It is mostly celebrated in government offices, schools, colleges and many private organizations.
It starts with the Hindi Diwas on 14 th September and celebrated for one week till 20 th September. Many politicians and notable public figures have supported the campaign by writing their social media account names in Hindi.
The function was held at Birla auditorium in Jaipur. Children participated in several Hindi competitions like essay writing, quiz, poetry etc. Many competitions pertaining to Hindi language were held in schools and colleges. Live streaming of the complete event was done on Government Video Portal at webcast. India observes Hindi Diwas annually on 14 th September, to promote Hindi language and to save it from getting extinct. It was started celebrating as a Hindi Diwas as Hindi written in Devnagari script was approved as an official language by the Constituent Assembly at 14 th of September in the year Hindi Diwas will be celebrated all over the India at Saturday, on 14 th of September.
